FD Estimates Disclaimer
FD calculations are estimates based on the amount, rate, tenure and compounding or payout assumptions you provide. Actual maturity values and payouts may differ based on the financial institution's calculation method, compounding rules, day-count conventions, product terms, premature withdrawal rules and applicable taxes.
• Taxes and TDS, where applicable, are not included in these estimates.
• Premature withdrawal terms and penalties vary by deposit provider and are not included in this calculation.
How to estimate fixed deposit interest
Enter your deposit, annual interest rate, tenure and compounding frequency. Compare cumulative deposits with deposits that pay interest periodically.
Calculation method
For whole compounding periods, cumulative maturity follows A = P × (1 + r / m)^(m × t), where r is the annual rate as a decimal, m is compounding periods per year, and t is years. Periodic payouts follow the selected payout settings.
Example
A ₹1,00,000 cumulative deposit at 7% annually for one year, compounded quarterly, grows to approximately ₹1,07,186 before tax.
Assumptions and limitations
Banks may use different day-count conventions or rules for partial periods. TDS, income tax and premature withdrawal penalties can reduce what you receive.
